TEP 0-6 Group 1

Part 1: 06 March – 17 March 2017
Part 2: 17 July – 04 August 2017

Description: Teacher Education Program 0-6 prepares Certified Montessori Teachers 0-6. Full information on Program, Required Literature, Trainers, the NMV, the Montessori Europe, Certification of the TEP Course and VIVID Onderwijs is in the attached file: Download_TEP_Program

Graduation document: the Certificate of the NMV (Nederlandse Montessori Vereniging / Dutch Montessori Association): “Montessori Teacher in Infancy and Primary Education; Age 0-6”. Certificate is awarded as per the Requirements for Certification of the NMV in Cooperation with VIVID Onderwijs

Course Certification: TEP 0-6 course is certified with the NMV. In 1917 the NMV was founded and in 1929 the AMI was founded. The NMV has the office in Hague and the AMI in Amsterdam. In 2016, nearly 100 years later the NMV has in total 544 Institutes as members with 56.373 Students from 0-18 years. To that there are 6 Colleges / High schools where teacher trainers are located and give the Montessori teacher trainings

Main requirements: documents/experience confirming the right to teach children

Weeks/Hours: 5 weeks/350 hours. Part 1: 06 March – 17 March 2017 (2 weeks); Part 2: 17 July – 04 August 2017 (3 weeks)

Goal 1: to prepare Certified Montessori Teachers

Result 1: 24 Certified Montessori Teachers

Note: graduates of TEP 0-6 Group 1 may continue their education under programs:

  • 2019 ATEP PRACT. Result: Diploma of Montessori Teacher, then
  • 2020 TTP Group 2. Result: Trainer Certificate

Goal 2: to select 14 experienced candidates among students of TEP 0-6 Group 1 for preparing Montessori trainers (TTP Group 1 only):

A. During TEP 0-6 Group 1 VIVID Onderwijs will:

  • select candidates for TTP Group 1 and check/challenge candidate’s experience/qualification at UMI facilities; and
  • identify education gaps of candidates and develop personal learning plans

B. During TEP 0-6 Group 1 each candidate for TTP Group 1 must:

  • demonstrate to the Trainers his ability to become trainer and prove his experience and qualification; and
  • study as per personal learning plan (including in between TEP Group 1 and TTP Group 1) and send reports to VIVID Onderwijs for assessment

C. After graduation from TEP 0-6 Group 1 and successful completion of personal learning plan each selected candidate will be able to participate in:

  • 2018 TTP Group 1 with significant discount. Result – Trainer Certificate; and
  • 2019 ATEP PRACT – free of charge. Result: Diploma of Montessori Teacher

D. Graduates of TTP Group 1 must take severalsocial obligationsthat shall be discussed separately:

  • during ATEP PRACT 2019 graduates must help Trainers to conduct inspections of working places of students that are enrolled in ATEP PRACT; and
  • train a number of Montessori Teachers under supervision of Trainers

Result 2: 14 experienced Montessori Teachers who will participate in TTP Group 1 and become trainers (this is an exceptional option of getting Trainer Certificate)

The final decision on candidate’s admission for the Course will be taken by Trainers based on Application Form review and results of interview with Organizer. In case of clarification questions, candidates will be invited for a separate interview with Trainers. The Course is certified by the Dutch Montessori Association and Trainers make the final selection in accordance with the certification requirements of the association. Trainers must be sure that the candidate is able to cope with a complex and very intensive Course Program and homework assignments. Please note that during the TEP Course candidates will have a substantial amount of independent work, which will be checked by Trainers.

Fee: The registration fee reserves a place for the candidate at the Course. Only after review of the candidate’s Application Form and adoption of positive decision on admission to the Course, Organizer will send to the successful candidate full instructions for the registration fee and tuition payment. In case the candidate refuses to participate in the Course, the registration fee will not be refunded.

Drs. Elisabeth C.J. Mattijssen is a Master in Pedagogy, Trainer of Montessori Teachers and she is registered in Health Care Netherlands as psychologist. She has a Private Company for psychological assessment: Praktijk voor Psychodiagnostiek and she is a partner of VIVID Onderwijs. From 1963 to 1969 she worked as a Montessori teacher with children from 4 to 12 years. From 1969 to 2006 she worked as a professor and Montessori teacher trainer at the Hogeschool Leiden. Next to this she wrote many articles for the Dutch Montessori magazine about child development and she developed 2 child monitoring systems (for regular and Montessori schools). She coaches school development for 20 years in the Netherlands, Belgium, Ukraine, Russia, China, Lebanon and Germany. She participates now in project development in the Netherlands: “A new approach to mathematics in Montessori education”. She consults regular and Montessori schools in several subjects, like coaching, management, didactics and methodology. She is a board member of the NMV (the Dutch Montessori Association).

Drs. Ward van de Vijver is a master in Pedagogy and Trainer of Montessori Teachers. After a career as teacher, headmaster, coach and consultant in the inner cities of The Hague and Rotterdam, he educated teachers at the Hogeschool Rotterdam. He trained school staffs and directors. His company VIVID Onderwijs is specialized in innovation of education for inner city schools and school development. The work for school development was rewarded with a national prize (Mommers-prijs). He used and constructed evidence based and data driven methods in school development during about 20 years in the Netherlands, Belgium, Ukraine, Russia, China, Lebanon and Germany. He is interested in evidence based principles of Montessori education and Observation and brought them into the Training: Montessori education in the 21st century. He published works about school development, orthography, arithmetic and motivation. He consults schools about management, reading, language and arithmetic. 

Vanessa

Vanessa Fichtl is a Montessori Teacher with AMI Diploma 0-3 in 2009 issued by The Montessori Institute Denver, USA. Vanessa started to work in Montessori schools in 2007. She is a trained Pedagogue and Event Manager. In 2013, Vanessa opened her own Montessori Children’s House in Dortmund, Germany. Her wish to actively promote the Montessori Pedagogy for children under three years of age, while making it more accessible in Germany, helped her along the path to founding the Montessori Institute Dortmund, which is an AMI-Certified Training Center. Vanessa regularly attends and speaks on conferences, workshops and trainings about the Montessori Pedagogy, including Pediatrics and Neurological Research. She is also an ambassador for the Montessori Pedagogy in Business schools and Universities in Germany.

Elementary School Montessori 6-12

Trainer:

Natalia Moshniaga is a certified Montessori teacher 0-6, 6-12, a specialist in sensoric integration and an assistant at diploma courses 3-6 and 6-12 in the Montessori Academy of Austria (Vienna). Currently Natalia is preparing to become a 6-12 trainer.

Program: The course consists of 18 units, each unit lasts 3-5 days. During the training, you will have the opportunity to visit Austrian schools, which are recognized AMI platforms. Upon training completion and successful exam passing, students will receive diplomas of the Austria Montessori Academy, indicating that training is fully compliant with AMI standards.
